Basketball Recap: Cole Cougars vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs
The Cole Cougars stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Nixon-Smiley at home to the tune of 84-50. The win was familiar territory for Cole who now have nine in a row.
It was another big night for James Livingston, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Beckstrom, who scored 20 points.
Cole has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a massive bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-15.
Cole will head out on the road to face off against the Ro-Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolph has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three games. As for Nixon-Smiley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Great Hearts Northern Oaks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
