Softball Recap: East Forsyth Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Walkertown typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday East Forsyth proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Wolfpack 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won six in a row.

Walkertown's batters probably weren't too happy with Allie Cox, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). Cox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Forsyth's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave Hamilton a new career-high.

East Forsyth pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Walkertown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Forsyth will square off against Parkland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Walkertown, they will host Forsyth Home Educators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
