Houston Christian extends road winning streak to four

Recap: Houston Christian Mustangs vs. St. John's Mavericks

The Houston Christian Mustangs entered their tilt with the St. John's Mavericks with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Houston Christian came out on top against St. John's by a score of 84-74 on Friday. Given Houston Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while St. John's is ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. John's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sebastian Williams-adams, who scored 32 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Malachi Booker who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds. Williams-adams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Colin Callahan was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Houston Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. As for St. John's, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-6.

Houston Christian will head out on the road to take on St. Stephen's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John's, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
