Baseball Recap: Owensboro Has No Trouble Against Grayson County

Grayson County typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Owensboro proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Cougars 16-1. Considering the Red Devils have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Owensboro's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Grayson County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owensboro will take on Madisonville-North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Maroons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Grayson County, they will square off against W.E.B. DuBois Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.82 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
