Softball Recap: Henderson Warriors vs. Penncrest Lions
Henderson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 19-13 to the Penncrest Lions on Monday. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in May of 2018.

Avery Reitnour and Sommer Baker did some serious damage despite the final result: Reitnour scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Baker scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Reitnour is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Josie Carfagno, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Henderson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Coming up, Henderson will host Ridley at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penncrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley Forge Military Academy at 4:15 p.m. on March 17th.
