Football Game Preview: Eastside Spartans vs. Castlewood Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Eastside Spartans will square off against the Castlewood Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastside has nine straight victories, Castlewood has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Eastside made easy work of Thomas Walker and carried off a 44-18 win. Considering the Spartans have won six contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Eastside can attribute much of their success to Landon Pannell, who threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, and Rocky Bond, who gained 178 total yards. Pannell also put up a rushing touchdown, which was his first of the season.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Eastside proved: they limited Thomas Walker to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The Spartans didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged nine.

Meanwhile, Castlewood was beaten by Hurley 44-6 on Friday.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Castlewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Eastside against Castlewood in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 51-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
