Preview: Marlin vs. Connally
The Marlin Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Connally Cadets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlin will be strutting in after a win while Connally will be coming in after a loss.
On Friday, Marlin kept a clean sheet against Hearne. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Eagles.
Marlin hit Hearne with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Eric Ramos-Diaz (2),
Christopher Sanchez, and
Rigoberto Martinez.
Meanwhile, Connally has not won a game since January 6th, a trend which continued on Tuesday. Their rough 3-0 loss to Robinson might stick with them for a while.
Marlin's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8-1. As for Connally, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.
Marlin came out on top in a nail-biter against Connally in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Does Marlin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Connally turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
