Horton Posts Huge Game in 48-14 Win

Starting off the list is Weed's Marcus Horton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Horton rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Unfortunately for Mt. Shasta, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Horton. When Horton last faced the Bears back in September, he rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry.

Nate Downey and Co. Win Fifth in a Row

Etna picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Nate Downey. Downey's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended a pass.

For the year, Downey has averaged 6.6 total tackles per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he was only averaging nine rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 109.8 rushing yards.

A Season-Best Effort from Wyatt Shaw Leads Redding Christian over Trinity

On Friday, Redding Christian got the W thanks in part to Wyatt Shaw playing the best football he has all season. Shaw wasn't messing around, throwing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while completing 94.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns.

On the season, Shaw has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 224 passing yards per game.

Ogden Made His Presence Known in Redding Christian's 40-18 Victory

Another Redding Christian player making an appearance on this list is Brodie Ogden. He picked up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 56 yards.

On the season, Ogden has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 68.8 receiving yards per game.

Wes Dresselhaus Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Wes Dresselhaus of Trinity. Dresselhaus rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making 12 total tackles.

Trinity is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Dresselhaus and Trinity will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Weed at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
