Softball Recap: Waubonsie Valley Comes Up Short

Waubonsie Valley came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Harlem Huskies, falling 12-2. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Waubonsie Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dezirae Kelly, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Alyssa Tukker also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The defeat snapped Waubonsie Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. As for Harlem, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Huskies beat Waubonsie Valley by a score of 8-3 later that day.
