Basketball Recap: Elk Mound Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Elk Mound won the last time they faced Elmwood/Plum City and things went their way on Thursday too. The Elk Mound Mounders put the hurt on the Elmwood/Plum City Wolves with a sharp 64-43 win. Given the Mounders' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Wolves are ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elk Mound has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Elmwood/Plum City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk Mound will host Glenwood City at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
