Baseball Recap: Easton Area Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Phillipsburg, Easton Area was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warren Hills Regional Blue Streaks a 12-0 shutout. The Red Rovers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Zach Sherwood looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Ordway, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Easton Area's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jose Landaverde, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
