Basketball Recap: Konos Academy Falls Short of Trinity Christian School of Griffin in the Playoffs

Konos Academy and Trinity Christian School of Griffin squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Konos Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS by a score of 67-65. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Condor this season, with their most recent defeat being a 63-54 loss back in January.

Konos Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Knapp, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards. The game was Knapp's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Samuel Brezina was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Konos Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Konos Academy will face off against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on Monday. One thing working in Konos Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Trinity Christian School of Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
