The Leake Academy Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Washington Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Leake Academy took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Central Hinds Academy get on the board and left with a 44-0 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rebels had established a 38-point advantage.

Leake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Adcock led the charge by rushing for 149 yards and two scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Easton Page did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 102 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leake Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Leake Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Joshua Gray and Ryals Wilkerson, who each picked up one interception apiece.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington). They blew past Marshall Academy, posting a 53-6 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Generals sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leake Academy better keep an eye on Max Morgan. He was instrumental in Washington's win, rushing for 91 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Morgan a new career-high.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Washington, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Reid Henderson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Leake Academy's record is now 8-2. As for Washington, their record now sits at 9-1.
Everything came up roses for Leake Academy against Washington in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 49-6 win. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
