Baseball Game Preview: Boone Toreadors vs. Ballard Bombers

For the first time this season, Boone will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Ballard Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are still undefeated after four games, but that won't be the case come Wednesday.

Boone's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over Perry. That's two games straight that the Toreadors have won by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Ballard had just enough and edged out West Marshall 4-2 on Tuesday.

Ballard pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boone, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Boone took their win against Ballard when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 17-9 score. Will the Toreadors repeat their success, or do the Bombers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
