Basketball Recap: Blake Takes a Loss

Blake managed to keep up with Plant until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Blake Yellow Jackets were beaten by the Plant Panthers 53-26. The loss continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Madelyn Galuski was nothing short of spectacular for Plant: she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Galuski a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Ingram, who posted nine points.

Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Plant, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Blake will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gaither at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Plant, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-18 defeat against Lakewood on the 18th.
