Basketball Recap: Gladewater Drops Season-High Score on West Rusk

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gladewater). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the West Rusk Raiders 54-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-46 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why West Rusk lost on Tuesday, don't look at Kamyah Lacy. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, Lacy also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Gabby Coleman was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Gladewater is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for West Rusk, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Troup the next time they take the court. Gladewater will host Troup at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while West Rusk will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
