Basketball Recap: Bluffton Piles Up the Points Against Ridgeland

Bluffton won the last time they faced Ridgeland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bluffton Bobcats really took it to Ridgeland for the full four quarters, racking up an 83-35 win. With the Bobcats ahead 49-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leading Bluffton to victory were Harrison Skinner and Jamari Manning. Skinner dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 assists, while Manning went 9 of 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Skinner's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon White, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Bluffton was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the loss, Ridgeland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Hakeem Chaneyfield posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabien Harris, who had seven points.

The victory (which was Bluffton's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points per game. As for Ridgeland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Bluffton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-55 win against Wando on the 20th. As for Ridgeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-38 defeat against Colleton County on the 23rd.
