Recap: Tyler HEAT vs. Longview Lobos

If Tyler HEAT were riding high off their 72-45 takedown of the Carthage Bulldogs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tyler HEAT was beaten by Longview 71-33 on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tyler HEAT has scored all season.

Tyler HEAT lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Grimes, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jet Bell, who scored five points.

Even though they lost, Tyler HEAT were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Longview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Head, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Morrion Williams, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.

Tyler HEAT's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Longview, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyler HEAT will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Brownsboro at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Brownsboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 712th, while Tyler HEAT is ranked 141st). Longview and Tyler Legacy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tyler Legacy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
