Basketball Game Preview: Rootstown Rovers vs. Crestwood Red Devils

The Rootstown Rovers will challenge the Crestwood Red Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rootstown has given up an average of 60.8 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Rootstown came up short against Newton Falls and fell 65-57. The Rovers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Crestwood had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 46-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since January 16th.

Rootstown's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Crestwood, the win also got them back to even at 10-10.

Rootstown and Crestwood were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Rootstown came up empty-handed after a 71-70 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Red Devils' Colton Mayle, who went 12-for-16 on his way to 33 points along with six boards and four steals.
