Jonah Villegas Delivers Best Effort of Season

Jonah Villegas produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Pojoaque Valley to the win on Friday. Villegas rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.

Santa Fe Indian's probably not too fond of Villegas given he always seems to get the better of them. Villegas rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Braves duked it out back in September of 2023.

Joshua Gonzales' Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Pojoaque Valley got the W thanks in part to Joshua Gonzales playing the best football he has all season. Gonzales rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. Pojoaque Valley is undefeated when Gonzales posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

For the year, Gonzales has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 25.2 rushing yards per game.

Breylon Willams Dazzles in Hope Christian Loss

While Hope Christian might've come up empty on Saturday, Breylon Willams wasn't going down without a fight. Willams turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Hope Christian's success: when he posts at least 100 receiving yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Hope Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. Willams and Hope Christian will look to defend their home field on Saturday against West Las Vegas at 11:00 a.m.
