Basketball Game Preview: Soda Springs Cardinals vs. New Plymouth Pilgrims

Having just played yesterday, the Soda Springs Cardinals will jump right back in to play the New Plymouth Pilgrims at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Soda Springs has given up an average of 50.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Soda Springs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 65-56 victory over Orofino.

Meanwhile, New Plymouth didn't have too much trouble with Marsing on Friday as they won 61-47. The Pilgrims have beaten the Huskies the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.

Soda Springs has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points over those games. New Plymouth's win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Soda Springs strolled past New Plymouth when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-38. Will Soda Springs repeat their success, or does New Plymouth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
