Volleyball Recap: Phoenix Academy Has No Trouble Against Piedmont Classical

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bethany Community, Phoenix Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Piedmont Classical Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-6, 25-18.

Phoenix Academy can attribute much of their success to Madison You, who had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave You a new career-high.

You wasn't the only good servers: Phoenix Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Phoenix Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Piedmont Classical, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Phoenix Academy and Piedmont Classical will both be playing Leadership Academy the next time they take the court. The Firebirds will head out to face the Falcons at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bobcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
