Basketball Game Preview: Futures Knights vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils

The Futures Knights will take on the Davis Sr. Blue Devils in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Futures turned things around against Cordova on Friday. They secured a 42-37 W over the Lancers.

Daniel Kozlov continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. Daniel Morar was another key player, putting up a point along with 11 rebounds and three steals.

Futures smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davis Sr.). They snuck past Roseville with an 80-75 victory on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while the Tigers are ranked 142nd).

Davis Sr. is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Futures, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
