Baseball Recap: Moravian Academy Comes Up Short

Moravian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the Wilson Area Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 16-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Moravian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carsten Rothbauer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those hits marked the first that Rothbauer got this season. Another was Jake Morehouse, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Moravian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Wilson Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Moravian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 22-4 loss against Pen Argyl on the 1st. As for Wilson Area, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Bangor on the 31st.
