Basketball Game Preview: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Westbury Huskies

The Sharpstown Apollos will square off against the Westbury Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sharpstown has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 25.

Last Saturday, Sharpstown had to suffer through a 60-31 loss at the hands of Galena Park.

Meanwhile, Westbury was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 43-42 to Waltrip. The contest marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sharpstown will need focus on slowing down Mayowa Olatoto, one of several Westbury players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Ibrahim Allim, who earned seven points and eight boards.

Westbury has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Sharpstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Things could have been worse for Sharpstown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-43 loss to Westbury when the teams last played back in December of 2024.
