Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin). They secured an 80-76 W over the Holy Name Green Wave on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Green Wave are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points over those games. As for Holy Name, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and Villa Angela-St. Joseph will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Holy Name, they will face off against North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Ridgeville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Holy Name likes a good challenge.
