Baseball Game Preview: Highlands Latin Highlanders vs. Iroquois Raiders

The Highlands Latin Highlanders will head out to square off against the Iroquois Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Highlands Latin is looking for their season's first victory.

LKY hit Highlands Latin with a eight-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Highlanders lost 11-1 to the Saints.

Lucas Trier put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Trier was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Iroquois and Central meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Raiders fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 8-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Highlands Latin's record now sits at 0-4. As for Iroquois, their record is now 1-6.
