It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Culver Academies ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Rochester Zebras  6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Eagles have posted  since April 13, 2024.
Culver Academies let  Trey Schumacher and  Preston Jessen run wild. Schumacher  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Jessen  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run. Schumacher is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   snagged at least one every time he's  taken the field this season.  Max Grundberg also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
 Culver Academies  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  contests.
Culver Academies' record is now 3-1. As for Rochester, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 8-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Culver Academies will square off against Marquette Catholic at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Rochester, they will challenge Delphi Community at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
