Softball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

Fike lost against Northern Nash back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fike Demons came up short against the Northern Nash Knights, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Demons have lost by exactly ten runs.

Fike saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Sharp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Sharp has posted since back in April of 2024.

Fike's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Northern Nash, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Fike will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. Fike has given up an average of 14.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Northern Nash, they will head out to face off against Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Nash is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.3 runs per game this season.
