Softball Recap: Pittston Patriots vs. South Western Mustangs

Pittston had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Western Mustangs a 2-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but Pittston sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

South Western's batters probably weren't too happy with Gianna Adams, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up five walks). Adams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 21 consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Pittston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lili Hintze, who went 2-for-2 with a double.

Pittston's win bumped their record up to 21-1. As for South Western, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 26-1.
