Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Fairbanks Panthers
West Jefferson is 1-9 against Fairbanks since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Jefferson Roughriders will be playing at home against the Fairbanks Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully West Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
West Jefferson kicked off their season on the road and hit a couple of potholes. They suffered a tough 46-22 defeat at the hands of Triad.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Braxton Stone, who scored five points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Fitzpatrick, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fairbanks blew past Northeastern, posting a 68-33 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fairbanks.
West Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fairbanks, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
West Jefferson came up short against Fairbanks when the teams last played back in February, falling 44-32. Can West Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
