Clinton lost against Halls back in September of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dragons came up short against the Red Devils, falling 41-21. The Dragons were down 41-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Clinton still got an impressive performance from Cam Anderson, who rushed for 145 yards and one score on only nine carries. Anderson's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Clinton also got help from Bryson Maddox, who showed off his sure hands for 104 receiving yards.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Jaxon Herrell for the heroic effort on defense: he. Clinton's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.17 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.27 on average over their last five games.
Clinton's defensive line didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Herrell refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Halls' side was Herrell, who picked up 1.5 sacks, made 20 total tackles (4.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Halls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Rogers, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. Rogers didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions. Amari Lethgo was another key passer, throwing for 291 yards and three TDs.
This is the second loss in a row for Clinton and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Halls, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Halls, they will square off against Tennessee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Red Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them.
