Soccer Game Preview: East Central vs. Clemens

East Central is on a three-game streak of home losses, Clemens a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The East Central Hornets will host the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m.

East Central fell victim to Johnson and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Jaguars are ranked 134th).

Clemens got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They had just enough and edged Johnson out 2-1.

Carmen Alonso and Arabella Briggs scored both of Clemens' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Clemens, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

East Central might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Clemens in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can East Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
