Basketball Recap: Long Branch Comes Up Short

Long Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. Their2024 ended with a 55-41 defeat against the East Brunswick Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 56-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Long Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for East Brunswick, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Long Branch will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Red Bank Regional on Monday. As for East Brunswick, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m.
