Baseball Game Preview: Sotomayor WILDCATS vs. Clark Cougars

For the second straight game, Sotomayor will face off against Clark. The WILDCATS will take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sotomayor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Sotomayor is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Clark get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

Wes Guardiola was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Cano, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Evan Fine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Sotomayor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clark only posted a batting average of .182.

Sotomayor has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clark, they dropped their record down to 13-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
