Preview: Clinton Dark Horses vs. Midway Raiders
Clinton and Midway are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Clinton Dark Horses will head out on the road to face off against the Midway Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Clinton was able to grind out a solid victory over Red Springs, taking the game 35-24.
Meanwhile, Midway had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Bladen 41-39. The victory was just what Midway needed coming off of a 52-9 defeat in their prior match.
Midway's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Williams, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Stonerock, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Clinton's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7. As for Midway, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Clinton beat Midway 39-27 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
