Softball Preview: West Vikings vs. North Stars
West is 0-10 against North since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Vikings will head out on the road to take on the North Stars at 4:45 p.m.
Sadly, West is still looking for their first win of the season after 12 matchups. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 19-0 walloping at the hands of North on Wednesday.
For North's part, Kaylee Simkins looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also didn't allow any walks). Simkins has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, North got a massive performance out of Bayleigh Wood, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Wood is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie De Leon, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.
West's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for North, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
