Paramount entered their tilt with Norwalk on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Lancers 8-1. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Delylah Zermeno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Flores was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Francheska Torres was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Paramount was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Paramount's record is now 12-4-1. As for Norwalk, they moved to 9-8-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Paramount will venture away from home to square off against Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwalk, they will head out to take on Hawthorne at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
