Soccer Game Preview: Springstead vs. The Villages Charter

The Springstead Eagles will head out to face off against The Villages Charter Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Springstead will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Springstead's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hernando as Springstead made off with an 8-0 victory. It was an even better day for Raul Maldonado as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, The Villages Charter was not quite Apopka's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Darters. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Buffalo couldn't push the score so high this time.

Springstead's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for The Villages Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Springstead beat The Villages Charter by a goal when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springstead since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
