Softball Game Preview: Warren Dragons vs. Meadville Bulldogs

The Warren Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Meadville Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meadville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Warren, who comes in off a win.

While Warren didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They beat Erie on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Meadville came up short against Fort LeBoeuf on Thursday, falling 16-1. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meadville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Kregel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for Warren and bumps their season record up to 6-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Meadville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Warren was able to grind out a solid win over Meadville in their previous matchup on April 4th, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
