New Home came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Abernathy Antelopes 58-42. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Antelopes are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Home pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games. As for Abernathy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10.

Coming up, New Home will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ralls at 6:15 p.m. As for Abernathy, they are taking a road trip to challenge New Deal at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
