Preview: Emery Spartans vs. North Sanpete Hawks
Emery has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the North Sanpete Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emery has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three matches.
Emery pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carbon. Emery has not had much luck with Carbon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kenadie Maughan, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Nielson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Sanpete came up short against Manti on Thursday and fell 59-49. North Sanpete has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emery's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for North Sanpete, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Emery strolled past North Sanpete when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 58-42. Will Emery repeat their success, or does North Sanpete have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
