Basketball Recap: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. Wood County Christian Wildcat
The Doddridge County Bulldogs can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wood County Christian 69-12 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Doddridge County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Doddridge County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Trent, who scored 17 points. Tenley Paugh was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Doddridge County and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for Wood County Christian, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doddridge County will take on the Titans at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Gilmer County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Wood County Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
