League recap: Torres' hot bat leads Frontier

Southwest Yosemite league recap: 4/3/13

Eddie Torres was on fire this week, as he led Southwest Yosemite with a .600 average, three home runs and ten RBIs. Frontier compiled a record of 4-0 in that time.

Stockdale's Max Carter was the best pitcher in the league this week. He picked up one win and 12 strikeouts.

Centennial led the league with 43 runs scored this week, but Liberty still holds the season lead with 170 runs.

Frontier were tops in the league this week with six dingers, but the Patriots held on to the overall league lead with 11 homers so far this year.

There were eight hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Logan Gillespie, who hit .700 this week (7-for-10).

Frontier's Torres racked up ten RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. For the year, he has racked up 21 RBIs, good for first in the league.



Andrew Daughtery was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in six runs during the Golden Hawks' 21-9 win over Durango. He went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.

Allan Winans struck out 12 in the Titans' 10-1 win over Edison on March 26. He gave up four hits and one run over seven innings of work.
