Basketball Recap: Altamont Takes a Loss

Altamont played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Midfield Patriots, falling 57-28. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Midfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamiya Webb, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards. Webb has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 45 times she's played. Lauren Stokes was another key player, going 11 for 15 on her way to 23 points.

Altamont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Midfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will head out to challenge Comer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clay-Chalkville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clay-Chalkville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Midfield will come in with four straight victories.
