Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Inn Fury vs. Westside Rams

The Fountain Inn Fury will head out on the road to face off against the Westside Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fountain Inn, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Fountain Inn didn't have too much trouble with Southside as they won 57-42. Given the Fury's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Tigers are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Wren. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly five points.

Fountain Inn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Fountain Inn came out on top in a nail-biter against Westside in their previous meeting last Friday, sneaking past 44-42. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Westside's Kmajay Jenkins, who went 8 of 16 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
