Weed Gets a Boost from Horton in 48-14 Victory
Starting off the list is Weed's Marcus Horton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Horton rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Mt. Shasta, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Horton. Horton rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry the last time he and the Bears duked it out back in September.

Etna Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Nate Downey
Nate Downey was instrumental in extending Etna's winning streak to five on Friday. Downey's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending a pass.
This season, Downey has averaged 6.6 total tackles per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he was only averaging nine rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 109.8 rushing yards.

Wyatt Shaw Turns in Season-Best Performance
Wyatt Shaw produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Redding Christian to the win on Friday. Shaw wasn't messing around, throwing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while completing 94.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The game was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns.
For the year, Shaw has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 224 passing yards per game.

Ogden Posts Huge Game in 40-18 Win
Keeping Shaw company is Brodie Ogden, a fellow Redding Christian player. He picked up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 56 yards.

Trinity is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Dresselhaus and Trinity will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Weed at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
