Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

If Gilbert was riding high fresh off their 53-19 takedown of Boone on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gilbert Tigers had to suffer through a 73-33 loss at the hands of the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

Gilbert will face off against Nevada at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they will take on Forest City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest City will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Waverly-Shell Rock surely won't give up without a fight.
