High Point Central hadn't done well against Rockingham County recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The High Point Central Bison claimed a resounding 74-45 win over the Rockingham County Cougars. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

High Point Central was led to victory by Josiah Hill and Jack Carter. Hill went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Carter went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Carter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Williams, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

High Point Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for High Point Central and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Rockingham County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Atkins the next time they take the court. High Point Central will host Atkins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rockingham County will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th.
