Softball Recap: Carmel Greyhounds vs. Mooresville Pioneers

Carmel extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-15 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mooresville Pioneers. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jayden Kleiner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Mia Fleming also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coming up, Carmel will host Fishers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
